You have worked with some of the big names in Bollywood, how does it feel to be a personal nutritionist? Also has it created any kind of pressure on you?

The big names in Bollywood are the big names because of the sincerity, discipline and dedication they show in everything they do from shoot to their food. This leaves no room for any kind of pressure on me as their personal nutritionist.

What do you think of size 0, and how hard did Kareena work on getting this figure?

I didn’t know what size zero is until the media wrote about it and I am ever so grateful to whoever came up with that tag ;-), infact I owe a lot to the media. On a serious note, no size or number can tell you how fit or fat you are!

Discipline and commitment, that's the secret behind Kareena's figure. She plans her diet way in advance and ensures that all the logistics of having the right food at the right time are sorted out. She eats local, seasonal, freshly prepared home cooked food, sleeps on time, and works out regularly and looks as fab as ever:)

How do you calculate BMI (Body Mass Index)?

BMI to me stands for “Bheje mein infection” (wicked laugh). Do I calculate BMI? The answer is NO. It’s an outdated concept and modern nutrition science has long moved on and its time the mainstream media does so too.

How can youngsters who are busy stay fit, during the stressful work hours?

Staying in touch with your hunger signals and not suppressing them through tea/coffee/cigarette or any other stimulant is the single most important thing to stay fit while at work. Making time to eat and eating as per the activity level (physical or mental) will ensure stress is handled easily and the body is in super shape too.

What is your idea on a wholesome nutrition?

Our homegrown Indian food wisdom is all about wholesome nutrition. World over the nutrition bodies are finally waking up to the fact that counting calories, dividing food into proteins/carbs/ fats, etc has only led to mass confusion and fear of food. But food is way beyond just counting calories and portion control. It is about trusting your tongue, nurturing your appetite, eating as per your taste buds, tuning into your stomach and understanding that food is a blessing and not something to be afraid of.

What do your celebrity clients like to eat?

All my celebrity clients thoroughly enjoy the food they have been eating all through their childhood and growing years, food which is true to their culture, home cooked, freshly prepared, local and seasonal. To know more about their personal favourite foods watch the DVD ;)

To have a perfect bikini body what foods do you suggest?

Everyone carries that perfect bikini body, you just need to have an eye for it ;) Eating foods that your granny did will not just give you that perfect bikini body but also the glowing skin and wisdom like her.

What is the Diet pattern that celebrities like Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor, Karishma Kapoor, Richa Chaddha follow?

All of them love their food and are true to their genes. They eat every 2 hours, especially fresh out of the kitchen and when traveling enjoy the local cuisines. Each one of them plan their meals before hand and at all times have access to food so that they are not starving themselves and this keeps their digestive fire alive.

What is the pre and post work out and post work out foods?

Pre and post workout foods are as important as the workout itself.  Nutritious food like fruit or a wholesome meal like sandwich within a gap of 15 mins and 1 hour respectively are good for providing energy during the exercise. Boiled potato/ banana and a whey protein shake is a great rehydrating and replenishing post workout meal.

Celebs have to lose weight and then regain weight, can this harm the body in any way?

As long as both are done by means of eating right and regular workouts, it does not harm the body in any way.

What do your clients (celebrities) do in regards to healthy hair and glowing skin?

As I said earlier, eating home cooked food, eating fresh and seasonal fruits and staying regular with workouts keeps them in great shape and that includes the hair and skin.

Can you give a common healthy diet?

There is no such thing as an ideal diet or a common diet. Eating food that you like eating, trusting your tongue and stomach and listening to their signals and not dividing food into carbs/proteins/fats and instead focusing on the wholesomeness of the meal is the way forward.

What are the foods to de-stress you?

Foods that appeal to your taste buds have the biggest calming effect on you. Fresh, home cooked and tasty food!

Karishma Kapoor being a mother still tends to look stunning, what are her fitness secrets?

I agree, the secret to her stunning looks is her diligent and consistent effort. Lolo, at all time pays attention to herself and her kids nutrition, she stays physically active and does what she loves

What kind of a diet do you suggest boys with to have a body like the Nawaab Saif Ali Khan?

Saif treats his body with a lot of respect and responsibility and focuses on eating what is local, fresh and seasonal. He is extremely committed to his workouts and believes that discipline is the key to a fit body :)
